Construction Specialties (CS), a leader in architectural building products, knew their website wasn’t living up to the promise of their innovative products. They needed a design partner with a keen understanding of the B2B customer experience who could help them up their game.
Reingold identified two major opportunities for improving the user experience and making CS’s website a more effective channel for lead generation and sales. First, we proposed a more streamlined site architecture that eliminated ineffective interstitial pages and allowed customers browse products more easily. Second, we proposed that they merge their disjointed marketing and e-commerce content into a unified customer experience.
Working with CS’s in-house development team and stakeholders, we set about defining the key features and functionality of the new site in the form of user stories. Then we reviewed and refined Construction Specialties’ product taxonomy and filterable product attributes. We brought all of this together in a new navigation design and wireframes of the site’s page templates and components. And we also helped CS create a more user-friendly submittal builder.
Our visual designers created an exciting new look and feel for the CS website, in adherence with Construction Specialties’ brand guidelines. And our front-end developers created a robust design system of reusable and fully responsive UI components. Throughout the design process, we documented functional and design requirements, and collaborated closely with Construction Specialties’ development team to ensure a smooth handoff for implementation in Sitecore, their content management system.
