Fairfax County Foster Care & Adoption

Client
Fairfax County Foster Care & Adoption does an exemplary job of matching potential foster and adoptive families with children in need of nurturing, safe homes.

Challenge
Fairfax County is one of the most diverse counties in the nation, but for several years the county recognized a shortage of African-American and Hispanic adults seeking to become foster and adoptive parents. Achieving a better balance between the diversity of cultures of adoptive and foster families and children in need of homes was crucial to the program's continued success.

Enter Reingold
Reingold collaborated with the Foster Care & Adoption Program to raise awareness about the issues of foster care and adoption. We re-branded the program with a memorable, award-winning logo that blends imagery of a child and butterfly to evoke new beginnings. We used this distinctive image with new messaging in attractive, compelling brochures, posters, and fliers—and then translated them into Spanish as well.

Results
Reingold's campaign helped boost interest in foster and adoptive parenting among African-American and Hispanic residents—and our efforts earned the American Graphic Design Award for best logo.
